Chairlifts for those that are in wheelchairs

Written by admin on June 10th, 2009

When people go from using the stairs like a breeze to having difficulty using them when they become elderly or in a wheel chair is a common occurance.  According to a study done by the University of California Disability Statistics Center that more then 60% of the 1.6 million wheel chair users in the United States have a difficult time getting aroudn their home. Many friends and family members will often recommend getting a single story dwelling or moving into a nursing home to solve the problem of getting around the home.  That is not the case.  Installing a home stair lift could be all that they need to get around on their own.

A home installed wheel chair stair lift would enable the wheelchair user to get up and down the stairs without any problems.  The handicap lift will contain a high quality wall mounted chair that attached to a rail that goes up along the wall.  This rail will move the person up or down the stairs.  Some wheelchair lifts are large enough and durable enough to hold a wheelchair in place as the home stair lift will move the chair up and down the stairs.

If this sounds like something that could improve your life.  A home stair lift could be for you.
