question: where can i get a stair lift that i can install myself?

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

A user on the site asked how they can get a home stair lift that they can install themselves.  There are many ways and places that you can obtain a home stair lift that you can install yourself.  You can get a stair lift online such as this stair lift from amazon or any other chair lift on the internet.  You can buy a stair lift from a local retailer and install it yourself. Often many times these dealers will insist on installing the home stair lift themselves.  Another option is to look on craigslist.org to find someone selling their old stair lift.  In my local area I found 17 different types of stair lifts in every make and model ranging from $300 for an older stair lift to over $2,500 for a newer stair lift in better condition.  There were stair lifts from AmeriGlide, Bruno, Concord, Morning Star, Pinnacle and more.  With enough effort and time spent, you can find the home chair lift for your needs that you can install yourself.

Help Zac Ward get a stair lift

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Some children who have a diseases such as cerebral palsy may have difficulty moving up and down stairs or around the house. Zac Ward is one of these children that has a hard time moving around the house and going places. So much so that his mother is holding a fundraiser this coming weekend in Virgina to help raise money to buy a stair lift among other things to help her with Zac on a daily basis.

Tickets are starting at $55 with $25 of that going to a trust fund to help Zac as he gets older in life. The cost of the stair lift, and other things such as a electronic wheel chair and a wheelchair assessable van are totally over $80,000.
